Introducing the AdjustMaster Pro: The Simple Solution to Dropped Bi-fold Doors

After years of intensive research, development and testing, working alongside designer Mohammad Boldagi, we have launched Debar’s newest hardware component. The AdjustMaster Pro is the new answer to door drops, and a universal solution for many bi-fold systems. This revolutionary system is DIY-friendly, quick to install, and ideal for long-term door alignment.

In our latest blog, we sat down with our technical manager, Marjanas Petraitis to discuss how the product was innovated, how it benefits the end-user, and how it ultimately transforms the bi-fold system industry.

After more than a decade working in bi-fold hardware engineering, there are certain challenges you come to accept as part of the job. One of those has always been dropped doors. Since joining Debar in February 2015 as a Design Engineer, and growing into my current role leading engineering projects, I’ve seen firsthand how frequently this issue appears across the industry. It affects fabricators, installers, service teams, and ultimately homeowners, often leading to time-consuming adjustments and unnecessary costs.

That is exactly why the launch of our new AdjustMaster Pro is such an important moment for us as at Debar. This isn’t simply another component added to a bi-fold system; it represents a shift in how we approach one of the most persistent problems in bi-fold door performance.

From an engineering perspective, dropped doors are not uncommon failures. Large, glazed panels carry significant weight, installation tolerances vary, buildings settle over time, and hardware experiences natural wear. Traditional bi-fold door correction methods such as toe-and-heeling have been relied upon for years, but they require skill, time, and often dismantling parts of the door.

As engineers, we always question whether there is a smarter way to address a problem we already know will occur. The AdjustMaster Pro was developed to answer that question by building adjustability directly into the bi-fold door system from the beginning, rather than treating it as an afterthought.

Installed during fabrication before glazing takes place, the AdjustMaster Pro integrates within the door structure and allows precise alignment adjustments to be made later by the end-user using a simple Allen key. While that sounds straightforward, achieving this level of simplicity required extensive design and testing. The solution needed to be compact enough to fit within existing profiles, strong enough to withstand long-term loads, reliable across repeated adjustments, and intuitive enough to be used confidently by end-users, not just bi-fold specialists.

Those design constraints are where our three decades of experience in bi-fold door system design and manufacture became critical. Over the years at Debar, I’ve worked closely with fabricators and installers, listening to feedback from the industry and understanding the pressures they face day to day. Innovation only matters if it performs in real-world conditions, not just controlled test scenarios.

What excites me most about this product launch is its potential impact across the entire lifecycle of a bi-fold door system. Fabricators can offer doors with built-in adjustability from day one, installers gain reassurance that future alignment corrections can be completed quickly, and ongoing service requirements can be significantly reduced. For end-users, it means doors that remain smooth, secure, and properly aligned for longer.

Instead of dropped doors being a disruptive problem, they become a manageable adjustment. This is a meaningful shift in mindset and capability for the industry.

Having grown with Debar from my early days as a design engineer to leading technical development today, I’ve seen how the right innovation can influence an entire market. I genuinely believe the AdjustMaster Pro is one of those innovations.
